Xavier McClafferty leads our coverage of US steel and building products, including rebar, scrap, cement and fabricated joist and deck.
Xavier joined Green Markets after nearly two decades in metals in roles ranging from the c-suite to the plant floor and more recently covering the industry as a reporter. Xavier helped lead M&A for one of the world's largest recyclers before starting several end-of-life vehicle and scrap recycling companies and later served as a consulting analyst to recyclers and steel producers on strategy, M&A and financial and operational performance.
Yurkie joined Green Markets in 2023 and covers the EMEA and Southeast Asian steel and scrap markets.
Prior to joining Green Markets, Yurkie gained experience in launching coverage of Turkish and CIS-origin flat steel products for another steel industry publication. Earlier, she served as a journalist and media analyst for a Southern European business news and market intelligence provider.
Dan began his passion for market research at MBNA America Bank (now Bank of America) where he served in a variety of analyst, research, marketing, and database development roles. In a following role he was a founder and then CMO for CCC Interactive (now Interactive Response Technologies) an advanced teleservices firm that specialized in market research outsourcing. He received a degree in economics from the University of Delaware.
Jonathan hails from Sheffield, England and is a Director of Sales for Green Markets.
His professional career started in the hotel business in England, and included stops in Bermuda and New York City with companies such as Sheraton, Omni and Swissôtel. Having left the hotel business, he spent 5 years in publishing with Racquet Magazine, Family Media and Black Book. Another 6 years in IT consulting followed with firms such as Binary Tree, Starpoint Solutions and Ciber before joining Green Markets in 2002.
Prior to joining Green Markets, Lisa worked at PC Connection Inc. for 9 years as an Executive Account Manager in the SMB space with a focus on developing new business and maintaining existing client relationships.
Understanding her customer’s core needs and building long term partnerships that provided value is her sales “motto”.
